Working together with open minds
Professional Support & training
I support schools and Nurseries, working closely with SENCO and school staff and carrying out consultations at a one-to-one or group level. The support is offered in small groups of six teaching assistants or teachers working together through consultation, solution circles, workshops, and training in areas such as:
- Understanding Autism or ADHD in the classroom/early intervention
- Managing challenging behaviour in class
- Training on child development in the early years
- Enhancing children’s friendship skills on the playground to promote inclusion, self-esteem, and confidence through positive peer interactions
- Emotion Coaching in school
- Learning difficulties including dyslexia
I also offer Video Interactive Guidance, a strength-based approach that promotes positive adult-child and peer interactions in the school context.
ELSA Supervision & SEN support
- I offer ELSA (Emotional Literacy support assistants) support and supervision which is carried out once every two months.
- Initial planning meetings with SENCO and Headteacher regarding SEN support for one hour at the start of the academic Year. A follow-up meeting can be arranged at the beginning of each term. Out joint working meetings involve consultation with SENCO and Headteacher regarding children on the SEN register, whole school areas for further improvement, working together on the school's behavioural policy and systems of support in classes and playground.
- I participate in annual review meetings working together with parents, carers, and school staff regarding the child's progress and the level of support they may need in school.
- Early years support and supervision once per month for EY practitioners in mainstream and specialist settings.
Educational Psychology Referrals
Following parental consent, I accept referral from Nurseries, primary and secondary schools for individual children who have conditions such as Autism, ADHD and dyslexia or other developmental, learning, behavioural difficulties and emotional needs.
